Volkswagen Taigo brings coupé styling to B-SUV segment

After the Tiguan, T-Cross and T-Roc, Volkswagen is adding yet another overlay with a model that comes directly from Brazil. Indeed, the Tiago is a small SUV (4.27 meters against 4.10 for a T-Cross) based on the chassis of the Polo (and therefore also the T-Cross), with a slightly larger size and a line that is oriented cut.
We can therefore clearly place the model below a T-Roc in terms of positioning, despite a style that seeks to play with the codes of premium. It is therefore placed a bit like an Arkana which exploits the underside of the Captur.
Things have been very streamlined here, and it's a bit obvious coming from a model that was sold above all in Brazil, namely that the interior was taken from the Polo without trying to develop a universe dedicated to it.

It is therefore the success of the small SUVs that prompted the brand to add this model to its catalog, which is already very extensive in this segment... At this stage, we can speak of the risk of cannibalization and even confusion for the customers who must now focus on getting to assimilate all the models offered: there are now three to be between 4.1 and 4.27 meters.

Mechanically, you shouldn't expect anything special except for light hybridization (which isn't very fancy). You have to see the cattle as a big overvalued Polo that will take over the mechanics of the latter. There is therefore no all-wheel drive available and the diesel is not currently planned although this carburation can be very relevant here
The trunk offers 440 liters, which is roughly between a compact and a Class C-type family sedan. The 4.27 meters in length however make it much more suitable for parking in town, and the size/habitability ratio here seems quite interesting (it is a very rational vehicle even if the plunging line tries to make believe the reverse).
